Billy Bragg, Wilco Conclude Mermaid Avenue Trilogy

Billy Brag and Wilco rekindled the ghost of troubadour Woody Guthrie with the release of Mermaid Avenue in 1998 after Nora Guthrie passed along her father’s Holy Grail of left behind lyrics. Two years later Mermaid Avenue: Vol. II was bestowed on the public, and April 21, 2012 will mark the conclusion of a monolithic trilogy with Mermaid Avenue: The Complete Sessions. Comprehensive, to say the least, the box-set will feature Vol. III, 17 previously unreleased tracks, the documentary Man In The Sand and a heavy booklet of  lyrics, rare photographs and drawings by Woody Guthrie.
