“The Beatles: The Lost Concert” Doc to Hit U.S. Theaters

There are few musicians more well-documented and discussed than The Beatles. Between books, films, and magazine articles, the Fab Four’s impact on music and culture have been recorded at great length. However, Screenvision is planning to release something that may have even the most well-researched Beatle-ologists excited: footage of the band’s first concert in the United States.

“The Beatles: The Lost Concert” documents the rise of Beatlemania in the United States, tracking how they went from being a popular British band with little American exposure to a worldwide phenomenon. The film will include the entirety of the band’s first American concert at the Washington Coliseum in front of 8,000 screaming fans. The film also features interviews with Chuck Berry, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and members of The Strokes.

Following a premiere at the Zigfield Theater in New York on May 6, “The Beatles: The Lost Concert” will run in 450 theaters for two weekends starting May 17. Visit the film’s website for more info and to get tickets.
