Beck To Release Single on Jack White’s Third Man Records

In what can only be described as a match made in heaven for idiosyncratic musicians, Beck is planning to release a single on Jack White’s Third Man Records as part of the label’s Blue Series of singles. On May 28, the singer will release “I Just Started Hating Some People Today” b/w “Blue Randy,” both of which feature White on, among other things, percussion and “punk vocals.” The single was recorded while Beck was in Nashville preparing tracks for his much-anticipated next record.

Known for its unconventional release methods, Third Man is planning to sell 100 copies of a tri-color vinyl edition of the single to be made available at Randy’s Records in Salt Lake City, Utah, presumably in honor of the B-side of the single. 50 more tri-color vinyls will also be made available to 50 lucky Third Man mail order subscribers.

The single will be available on iTunes and through the Third Man Records website. You can listen to clips of the two songs here. Third Man is not taking any pre-orders for the single.
