Martina McBride – Eleven (Republic)

Artist:

Album:

Label:

Release Date:

Almost 20 years after her first album, The Time Has Come in 1992, McBride has begun anew with a new record label and 11 new songs, six of which she co-wrote.  This is also the 11th studio album for this frequent award winner and perennial TV show guest. Two separate rating/tracking services have declared McBride the “most played female artist on country radio for the past 11 years.”

Two of the tracks were previously released as singles and both have become major hits. “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” describes the reaction to a dreaded diagnosis of cancer and the sentiments expressed musically were amplified in a video featuring Sheryl Crow, “Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts, “Today” show anchor Hoda Kotb, and well-known television journalist Katie Couric, as well as other cancer survivors.  McBride co-wrote “Teenage Daughters” from a personal experience perspective that elicits identification with parents everywhere.  Other tracks which will no doubt be ultimately be identified with McBride include “Long Distance Lullaby,” “When You Love A Sinner,” and “Whatcha Gonna Do.”  This is another album full of excellent music from the woman with the mesmerizing voice and piercing blue eyes.
