MGMT, Best Coast Featured on Fleetwood Mac Tribute Album

Marking Fleetwood Mac’s epic 45 year history, Hear Music/Concord is releasing Just Tell Me That You Want Me: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, on August 14th, combining diverse bands for a 17 song collection. The album includes contributions from Best Coast, MGMT, the New Pornographers, Lykke Li, The Kills, and many more. The songs range from the early blues exhortations of “Oh Well” with a raw attempt by Billy Gibbons & Co., a dark underbelly version of “Think About Me” by the New Pornographers, a surf-rock melody “Rhiannon” performed by Best Coast, and a 9 minute take of Fleetwood Mac’s early 1970s transition “Future Games” (originally written by Bob Welch who died tragically earlier this month), by the psychedelic group, MGMT. The Lindsey Buckingham/Stevie Nicks period is also explored in abundance with Marianne Faithful, Lykke Li, Washed Out and Tame Impala, rendering iconic songs from Rumours, Tust, and Mirage.

“Just Tell Me That You Want Me” was produced by esteemed film and television music supervisors Randall Poster and Gelya Robb, the creative team behind 2011’s highly acclaimed “Rave On Buddy Holly” (Fantasy/Concord); which debuted in the Billboard Top 20 and earned a Grammy nomination. With an all-star artist lineup and successful producers, this tribute album is telling me that I want it, and I will oblige.
