Sheryl Crow Diagnosed With Benign Brain Tumor

In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow revealed that she has a benign brain tumor. The news was broken by Crow herself, who seemed in good spirits about the news.

“I was worried about my memory so I went to get an MRI, and I found out that I have a brain tumor,” Crow said in the interview. “And I was like, ‘See? I knew there was something wrong!'”

Crow was prompted to get an MRI after multiple incidents at shows where she was unable to remember the lyrics to some of her songs. After forgetting the words to her hit “Soak Up The Sun” at a Florida show, Crow joked to the crowd: “I’m 50, what can I say? My brain’s gone to shit.”

Both Crow and her publicist have emphasized to news outlets that the tumor is benign, and while it has been affecting the singer’s ability to remember things, it was not indicative of a larger problem such as brain cancer.

“Half of us are walking around with [menignoma] but you don’t really know unless you have an MRI,” Crow’s publicist said in a statement. “She has no symptoms and everything is fine…she is doing great and is healthy and happy.”

Crow had previously survived a bout with breast cancer in 2006. We here wish Crow-who has shown great strength and fortitude throughout her life in the public eye-the best for years to come.
