If not, then you’re going to get quite the surprise when Freddie Mercury’s new biopic comes out. Funny man Sacha Baron Cohen will be playing the Queen singer. Primarily known for his irreverent humor and over-the-top comedic antics, Cohen might provide just the amount of flamboyance and flair necessary to bring Mercury to the big screen in a big way. Queen fans and skeptics may rest easy knowing that the band is involved in the process. Guitarist Brian May has been updating information about the film on his blog. Initial news of the biopic came up over three years ago, but there have been some delays in the filming schedule. On his blog, May said that filming is scheduled to start in the spring, and the film should be ready for release in early 2014.
