2013 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees Announced

The votes are in, and next year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class has been named. This time around, Rush, Heart, Albert King, Randy Newman, Donna Summer, and Public Enemy will all be enshrined in Cleveland next year.

This year’s finalists were the first to be selected by the public, via a poll on Rolling Stone‘s website. This was probably great news for Rush, who have received a lot of popular support towards being inducted but have been passed over for many years. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Rush singer/bassist Geddy Lee expressed gratitude towards the band’s fanbase, saying “it’s an honor we share with them for sure.”

The honor is also long overdue for King, who had a huge influence on the development of blues guitar and guitar playing in general. King died in 1992 and will be receiving the honor posthumously along with Summer, who passed away earlier this year.

The induction ceremony will take place on April 18th, 2013 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale on January 25th.
