Eric Clapton To Release New Album In March

Eric Clapton Old Sock new albumGuitar icon Eric Clapton has remained a little quiet since the release of his album Clapton in 2010. All that is going to change soon; Clapton announced today that he plans to release a new album, Old Sock, on March 12th on his label, Bushbranch.

The album will feature two new Clapton originals, but most of the album will be covers of Clapton’s favorite songs, including works by Leadbelly, Gary Moore, Peter Tosh, and George Gershwin. The album features an array of all-star guest performers, including J.J. Cale, Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, and Chaka Khan.

Clapton plans to support Old Sock with an arena tour in the United States starting in March and finishing in April with the Crossroads Guitar Festival at Madison Square Garden in New York City. This year, Clapton will be joined at the festival by Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr., the Allman Brothers Band, and John Mayer.
