Grizzly Bear Release New Video for “Gun-Shy”

Grizzly Bear Gun Shy music videoThis video is just a normal walk through the park for Brooklyn indie rockers Grizzly Bear. Okay, so that’s a lie. “Gun-Shy” comes off of 2012’s Shields and definitely gives its dose of the mundane and the bizarre. As the band gets down with some medical testing and treatments in the middle of the woods, the camera focuses on repeated, jerky motions that give even the most plain and harmless of actions the appearance of the harmful or bizarre. You zoom in and zoom out between the plain view and the microscopic, you move and freeze and repeat—it’s by far the strangest medical/nature documentary we’ve ever seen. And how exactly did the band come up with this concept? “The idea came from a question: if the creative energy of any living organism could be seen, what would it look like?” said director Kris Moyes in a statement. “This is an invitation for a very rare glimpse of what creative energy could look like on a molecular level, if it could be seen.” If you want to get a scientific peek into the creative energy of Grizzly Bear, check out the video for “Gun-Shy” below.
