Kings Of Leon, Avett Brothers Headline Governor’s Ball

Governor's Ball Kings of Leon

Festival season is about to get into full swing, and the big summer shows are announcing their lineups day by day. While we’re still waiting for big guns like Coachella and Bonaroo to announce their lineup, New York’s Governor’s Ball is setting up a festival that could be as big or bigger than both of them. The festival’s announced lineup contains some of the biggest names in music, including the return of Kings of Leon, who haven’t played in the city since 2010.

Along with the Kings are folkies The Avett Brothers, The Lumineers and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, along with art-pop groups like Grizzly Bear and Beach House. Noveau blues man Gary Clark Jr. and proto-grunge lifers Dinosaur Jr. will also be at the three-day festival, which will also feature some interesting side activities like a life-size version of Connect Four and a “silent disco” for those who’d rather listen to something other than the bands playing at the festival. With a lineup this good, though, why would you want to listen to anything else.

Tickets for Governor’s Ball go on sale this Friday, January 25th. The festival is slated to take place on June 7th, 8th, and 9th. For more info, visit www.govball.com.
