Soundgarden, fun. and others to Perform at Presidential Inauguration

The president has a diverse set of artists ready to ring in his second term. The Presidential Inaugural Committee just announced that Chris Cornell and Soundgarden have been added to the roster. The Seattle grunge band has been keeping busy lately. Last year the band returned with their latest album, King Animal, and now they’re hitting the stages again. And apparently, one of those stages is in front of Mr. Obama himself. Lead vocalist Chris Cornell will be playing solo at the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball on January 21st. He’ll be joining the likes of Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Jennifer Hudson, Marc Anthony and Jamie Foxx. For the Inaugural Ball, the full band will be playing with artists such as fun., Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Katy Perry, John Legend, Usher, Far East Movement, Black Violin, Maná and members of the Glee cast. Beyoncé will be covering the national anthem at the swearing-in ceremony, while Kelly Clarkson is covering “My Country, ‘Tis of Thee.” James Taylor will be singing “America the Beautiful.”
