The Rolling Stones NOT Headlining Coachella

The Rolling Stones CoachellaSo much for that rumor: Mick Jagger has now definitively squashed rumors of a Rolling Stones appearance at this year’s Coachella festival. The singer told the NME that, despite several rumours linking the band to the festival, it was simply “too early” in the year for the band to consider playing.

The band were originally tagged as possible headliners after their mobile app listed a 2013 tour date in Indio, California, where the festival takes place. The listing was immediately taken down, but the rumors still persisted until Jagger’s adamant denial this morning.

The Coachella denial means little for the Stones’ upcoming tour plans, though. Jagger insists the band are “not going to stop,” while both Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood have expressed an eagerness to get back on the road. Whether this means a performance at another festival (Bonaroo and Lollapalooza are further down the road.) remains to be seen.
