Alice in Chains Reveal New Details About Upcoming Album

AliceInChains-Press3“H V L E N T P S U S D A H I E E O E D T I U R R” is the message that Alice in Chains left on its website earlier this week. If it doesn’t make sense to you, get the ‘ole puzzler going and move some letters around to decode the title of the band’s new album. Cue the Jeopardy music here.

Okay. Give up? Alice in Chains’ upcoming fifth full-length album will be The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here will be the Seattle rockers’ follow-up to 2009’s Black Gives Way to Blue.

“I don’t think you’ll be surprised by anything you hear,” said guitarist Jerry Cantrell about the new LP. “It’s us. But it’s also really unique. It’s got all the elements of any record we’ve put out, but it’s unlike any record we’ve put out. Basically, it’s the next chapter in the Alice in Chains book, and it’s going to be a big one.”

We got an early taste of the new album back in December when the band released the first single, “Hollow.” That was followed by the premiere of the track’s music video last month. Revolver just debuted a behind-the-scenes video about the making of “Hollow.” You can watch that below.

The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here is set for release this May.
