HBO Premiers Trailer For Phil Spector Biopic

Phil Spector Al Pacino HBO moviePhil Spector had a colorful life, to say the least. The man was responsible for some of the most lasting hit songs of his time, but his erratic behavior made him notorious as well as famous. Now, the tale behind the producer’s darkest hour-the trial for the shooting death of actress Lana Clarkson-is coming to the small screen courtesy of HBO and award-winning writer/director David Mamet. Simply titled Phil Spector, the biopic focuses specifically on the process behind defending Spector during the Clarkson trial while taking some time to flash back to Spector’s career as a music producer during the 1960s and 1970s (probably focusing less on the music and more on the violent and crazy behavior perpetrated by Spector during those times). Al Pacino, no stranger to playing unhinged characters, will be playing Spector, while Helen Mirren and Jeffery Tambor play the legal team tasked with keeping Spector out of jail.

Phil Spector premiers on HBO on March 24th. Below, watch the trailer for the movie, complete with Al Pacino in Phil Spector’s various wigs:
