Joey Ramone’s Record Collection Up For Auction

Joey Ramone auction record collectionMusic fans will soon have a chance to own a piece of punk rock history: Billboard reports that the personal items of Joey Ramone, including his record collection, are going up for auction. Among the other items up for sale are the Ramones frontman’s jacket and even his passport.

Ramone’s record collection contains about 97 albums and gives an interesting insight into the kind of music that he enjoyed and was inspired by. It includes albums by The Ventures, The Temptations, Bob Dylan, Cream, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Human League, and Yes, among others.

Among the weirder items being auctioned is Ramone’s Rolodex, which contains the contact information for various executives at Geffen Records, Sire Records, and Epitaph Records, as well as the producer of Rock n’ Roll High School. Exactly what one would do with Joey Ramone’s outdated Rolodex is beyond us, but it’s there for anyone who wants it.

The auction opens on February 14th and closes on February 21st. The minimum bid is $500, so anyone who wants to get Joey’s stuff will have to save up quite a bit first.
