Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy was arrested in Glendale, California last night, according to the Glendale News-Press. According to police reports, Murphy was arrested following a hit-and-run incident with another driver. Police say that Murphy was found with drugs at the time of his arrest and that he appeared disoriented and “very confused” when speaking to authorities, but Murphy denies that he was under the influence of anything at the time.
Murphy is currently being held on $500,000 bail. Murphy was supposed to go on tour this year to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Bauhaus, but it is unclear if the inevitable legal proceedings stemming from his arrest will affect those plans in any way.
