Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young To Release Live Album from 1974 Tour

Crosby Stills Nash Young new live albumCrosby, Stills, Nash & Young are preparing the release of a new live album with recordings from their 1974 world tour. According to David Crosby in an interview with Rolling Stone, the album will be released on August 27th.

The CSNY 1974 tour has a place in rock music history as one of the biggest stadium tours of all time, as well as being one of the most tense. The band re-united in 1974 after an acrimonious split in 1970, and according to reports from people who saw shows on the tour, the four had yet to resolve their differences with each other. Combine that with a few drug problems, and you can understand why the tour was dubbed “The Doom Tour” afterwards.

Crosby, though, looks back on those years with pride and excitement. “It’s going to stun people,” Crosby said to RS about the new live album. “When I hear this shit, I think, for a moment, we were probably the best band. It’s startlingly good.” If the album ends up being half as good as Crosby says it is, then we can’t wait.
