Commander Cody (George Frayne), with an evolving cast of musicians, has been around since 1967 after forming the original group in Ann Arbor.  Although there have been multiple personnel configurations and periods of relative inactivity, they have endured almost in spite of a stubborn allegiance to what originally brought them to the party–a hard-edged, country-tinged spin on rock & roll sprinkled with R & B and punctuated by Frayne’s boogie-woogie piano. 

This album, recorded at a live performance in Frayne’s hometown of Bay Shore, New York, is the 22nd for the band.  The eleven tracks begins with repertoire classic “Too Much Fun” and finishes with the title track from their debut album, “Lost In The Ozone.”  Also included is “Riot In Cell Block #9” and their signature song “Hot Rod Lincoln.”  “House of Blue Lights” and “Beat Me Daddy Eight To the Bar” feature Frayne’s keyboard excursions. It’s phenomenal stuff from a band had been pleasing fans for almost a half century!
