Last night was a big night in country music as the CMT Music Awards kicked off in Nashville.

Carrie Underwood took the prize for Video of the Year for “Blown Away.” The trophy is Underwood’s 10th CMT award and makes her the top winner in CMT history.

Country power couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert brought a couple of their own awards home, with Lambert winning big in the Performance of the Year (for “Over You,” co-written with Shelton) and Female Video of the Year (for “Mama’s Broken Heart”) categories. Shelton snagged Male Video of the Year for “Sure Be Cool if You Did.” “Honey, I’m drinkin’ for two tonight! I love you!” Lambert said to Shelton, who could not attend the show.

Unsurprisingly, Lady Antebellum also took home an award for Group Video of the Year for “Downtown.” “This is Hillary’s maternity present come early,” Charles Kelly said of the eight-months-pregnant Hillary Scott.

Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Eric Church won the Collaborative Video of the Year award for “The Only Way I Know.”

Noobs Florida Georgia Line also had a great showing, snagging the Duo of the Year and Breakthrough Video of the Year awards for their hit “Cruise.” “We’re going to turn into Taylor Swift in a minute,” Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard joked during the duo’s second award acceptance.

As for Swift, this year just wasn’t her year at CMT, because she left the show empty-handed. Swift did still deliver a powerful performance of “Red,” the title track from her 2012 album.

Other performances included a collaboration between Aldean and Lenny Kravitz on a cover of the Guess Who’s “American Woman”; rapper Nelly (yes, that Nelly. No, we’re not mistaken) teaming up with Florida Georgia Line on their remix of “Cruise”; Keith Urban hitting the stage with Little Big Town for a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain”; Lady Antebellum performing “She’s Gone” and backing Darius Rucker, who covered the Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel”; and country youngun Hunter Hayes hitting the stage with “I Want Crazy.”

CMT queen Carrie Underwood also gave a touching performance of her single “See You Again” as a tribute to her home state of Oklahoma. The singer recently made a $1 million donation through the Red Cross to help out the state after its recent tornado tragedies.
