Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Vince Gill To Appear On Civil War Compilation

Loretta Lynn Divided & UnitedThe fascination that many music fans have with Americana has led to many classic folk songs to be rediscovered by a new audience. This fall, though, ATO Records plan to take listeners even further back into America’s past. The label is set to release Divided & United, a compilation of Civil War-era songs performed by some of the biggest names in music.

Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Vince Gill lead a collection of musicians that also includes T Bone Burnett, Old Crow Medicine Show, Lee Ann Womack, Shovels & Rope, Jamey Johnson, Taj Mahal, Chris Thile, Jorma Kaukonen, Sam AmidonCarolina Chocolate Drops, John Doe, and Karen Elson. The compilation was put together by music supervisor Randall Poster, who has worked on the soundtracks to the film Moonrise Kingdom and the television series Boardwalk Empire.
