Deer Tick to Perform Entirety of ‘In Utero’ in Nirvana Tribute Show

imagesIndie/alt-rock stars Deer Tick are big fans of Nirvana. How big? Well, they’re going to be celebrating the 20th anniversary of In Utero at Brooklyn Bowl on Sept. 13, and they want you to join. The band, which often moonlights as Deervana, will be playing In Utero in its entirety. This is not the first time Deervana has taken the stage for an entire Nirvana tribute set.

“We have done entire sets of Nirvana songs before,” frontman John McCauley told Rolling Stone in an interview. “That was a tribute, and we weren’t trying to put our own spin on it. Nirvana is my favorite band.”

As Deer Tick prepares for their Nirvana tribute night, they’re also gearing up for the release of their fifth LP, Negativity, due out Sept. 24. Tickets for the Deervana show are on sale now.
