Air Waves is the project of Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Nicole Schneit, and she’s easily one of the best songwriters in a place that has a lot of people who try to write songs. Schneit’s quietly effecting songs  maintain a charming simplicity without being simplistic, a difficult line to tread but one that Schneit does skillfully. This year, she’s taking Air Waves out of Brooklyn and across the country, including a stop at The Empty Bottle in Chicago. Memo to any Chicagoans looking for something to do that night: this band is something truly special. Make an effort to go see them; you won’t regret it.
