Folk-rockers Blitzen Trapper are back with VII, their first album for new label Vagrant Records. While the band’s label may have changed, VII is filled with the meandering stories that Blitzen Trapper are known and loved for. Fans of the likes of Drive-By Truckers who haven’t taken notice of this band yet should do so now.

VII comes out September 30th, but Blitzen Trapper aren’t waiting to give fans a taste of what to expect. “Shine On,” the album’s first single, is a rousing anthem with hints of gospel mixed with the band’s down-home take on rock ‘n’ roll. Needless to say, there’s plenty to be excited about.
