David Bowie Preparing To Return To The Stage

David Bowie liveDavid Bowie surprised audiences with The Next Day, his first album in 10 years, but he further shocked-and disappointed-his fans with his refusal to tour behind the album. However, if reports are to be believed, the Thin White Duke’s absence from the stage will be short-lived.

A report coming from the Mirror suggests that Bowie is planning his grand return to the stage, and he is currently the subject of a bidding war between two UK promoters looking to book him for massive London performances in 2014. The proposed concerts would coincide with the fiftieth anniversary of Bowie’s first single, released under the moniker Davy Jones and the King Bees.

When Bowie returned with his album this year, he kept a surprisingly low profile, refusing to do interviews and essentially speaking through collaborators Tony Visconti and Earl Slick. With the runaway success of The Next Day and a seeming demand for more Bowie, it’s only a matter of time before he comes out of hiding again.
