Morrissey Calls Off Publication of Autobiography Three Days Before Release

Morrissey-in-concert-001Those of you who were looking forward to hearing about the trials and tribulations of Morrissey’s life (the ones that you didn’t already get in all those Smiths lyrics) are going to have to wait, because the singer has called off the publication of his autobiography.

The autobiography was due to hit shelves in just three days. A note on Morrissey’s website says, “Although Morrissey’s Autobiography was set to be available throughout the U.K. on Sept. 16, a last-minute content disagreement between Penguin Books and Morrissey has caused the venture to collapse. No review copies were printed, and Morrissey is now in search of a new publisher.”

Morrissey’s had a rough time over the past year or so, with his having to cancel multiple shows due to multiple health problems and some financial problems. Unfortunately for Moz fans, this will be another cancellation to add to the list.

The book was supposed to tell the story of Morrissey’s time growing up in Manchester and his relationship with Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr.
