It’s been 33 years since John Lennon was tragically taken away from us, but the power of his music still lives on. Tonight, City Winery pays tribute to the songwriting legend with a discussion of his life and music as well as a performance of some of his best songs. Joe Raiola  hosts a discussion featuring legendary rock DJ Dennis Elsas, photographer Bob Gruen, and Double Fantasy producer Jack Douglas. Following the discussion will be a performance by the inimitable Bettye LaVette, who will also be performing at the star-studded 33rd Annual John Lennon Tribute later this year. We don’t know which of Lennon’s songs Bettye will be performing, but her soulful voice is welcome on just about any piece of music.
