After making a big debut last year, the CBGB Festival returns this October with a new set of dates and a new collection of artists celebrating the best in underground music. The festival’s first day has a number of great shows to choose from, but we’re most excited for the return of proto-punk icon Cheetah Chrome to the Lower East Side. The former Rocket From The Tombs and Dead Boys guitarist has a brand new collection of songs slated for release this year that prove that he hasn’t lost a step in 30 years. We had a grand old time when he returned with Rocket From The Tombs in 2011, so we’re more than eager to see what he has in store this time around.
