Bruce Springsteen Announces New Album ‘High Hopes’

Bruce Springsteen High HopesThis weekend, Bruce Springsteen announced his return with a new album with the E Street Band. High Hopes will be released on January 14th, 2014.

Produced by Ron Aniello and Brendan O’Brien, High Hopes is a bit of a departure from Springsteen’s last few albums in that it includes both covers and unrecorded songs from the Boss’ past. The controversial “American Skin (41 Shots),” which previously only appeared as a live recording on The Essential Bruce Springsteen, will be on the album, as will a re-working of “The Ghost Of Tom Joad” and a cover of Suicide’s “Dream Baby Dream.” Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who filled in for E Streeter Steven Van Zandt on the band’s tour of Australia, also appears on seven of the album’s 12 songs.

Bruce has already released a video for the album’s title track, a cover of a song written by Tim Scott McConnell for his band The Havalinas in 1990. You can check out the video for the song below:
