Experience Hendrix Tour To Return In 2014

Experience Hendrix tourSince its inception in 1995, the Experience Hendrix tour has brought some of the world’s greatest guitarists together to pay tribute to the music of the legendary Jimi Hendrix. The festival is set to return in 2014, and the initial lineup is a doozy: reports that Buddy Guy and Zakk Wylde lead a star-studded lineup that includes the likes of Dweezil Zappa, Bootsy Collins, Ana Popovic, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Doyle Bramhall II, Eric Gales, and Los Lobos frontmen Cesar Rosas and David Hidalgo.

Much of the focus of this year’s tour is going to be around Wylde and Popovic, both of whom will be playing the Experience Hendrix festival for the first time. Shepherd, a veteran who has performed with the tour since 2004, is excited to see what the newbies will bring. “I’m always curious to see when they bring someone new in, what songs they’re going to choose and what their interpretation of Hendrix’s music is going to be,” Shepherd said.
