Daft Punk, Ben Harper, Emmylou Harris Win Big At 2014 Grammy Awards

2014 Grammy Awards winnersThis year’s Grammy Awards was all about the robots as electronica duo Daft Punk took home the big awards at last night’s ceremony. The group’s funky, surprisingly non-electronic Random Access Memories took home the trophy for Album of the Year, while their inescapable smash hit “Get Lucky” gained Record of the Year honors.

Elsewhere, the love for Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell’s Old Yellow Moon just keeps on going as the duo beat out the likes of Buddy Miller & Jim Lauderdale, Mavis Staples, Steve Martin & Edie Brickell, and Allen Toussaint to win Best Americana Album. Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite’s John Lee Hooker-inspired collaboration Get Up took home Best Blues Album, while Guy Clark’s excellent My Favorite Picture Of You was honored with the award for Best Folk Album.

As usual, the actual Grammy ceremony was heavier on live performances than awards distribution. You can check out videos for the Grammy performances below:
