AC/DC To Start Work On New Album

AC/DC new albumAC/DC frontman Brian Johnson has confirmed that the Australian hard rock band will start work on a new album this year. The band are also preparing a world tour to coincide with their 40th anniversary this year.

Johnson broke the news to Palm Beach radio station 98.7 the Gater in a brief interview that originally focused on Johnson’s participation in the Palm Beach Grand Prix. Johnson confirmed that guitarist Angus Young had been working on songs for a new album, and that the band would start recording in May. Johnson also talked about the band’s preliminary plans to commemorate their 40th anniversary, including a possible 40-date tour “to thank the fans for their undying loyalty.”

The band haven’t toured since 2010, and they haven’t released an album since 2008’s Black Ice. In recent years, the band had to contend with a member’s health issues, though both the member and the issue have remained secret.
