Beatles’ Help! Jackets Up For Auction

Help! You too may be able to own a piece of music history when George Harrison and Ringo Starr’s jackets from the cover of the Beatles’ album Help! go on the auction block next month.

The jackets, made famous on the album cover and also worn by the Fab Four in the 1965 movie of the same name, were owned by the film’s director, Richard Lester. They’re expected to sell for anywhere between $82,000 and $115,000 each. The auction—held by Omega Auctions—will take place in Liverpool on March 20, the 50th anniversary of the release of “Can’t Buy Me Love.”

You will have the opportunity to buy the jackets and other Beatles artifacts, though. Also going up will be a piece of the wall from the set of The Ed Sullivan Show, signed by the bandmembers during the course of their three-day historic American debut.

The auction will feature more than 200 pieces of Beatles memorabilia, and will be broadcast online.
