Coldplay released a song and a music video for their single “Midnight,” from their upcoming follow-up to 2011’s Mylo Xyloto.  Last year, the band produced an original song, “Atlas” for the film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. 

“Midnight” represents a sonic shift from the band’s previous, more rock-oriented sounds. It features sparse instrumentals and processed vocal dubs, and a atmospheric, minimalist feel. The video was directed by Mary Wigmore, who is lead singer Chris Martin’s daughter’s godmother. 

“Midnight” was unannounced, and no details about the band’s upcoming sixth studio album have been released. Check out the video below:
