The Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s new album, Days of Abandon, will be released April 22.

It’s a big day for Brooklyn-based musicians. Indie pop band the Pains of Being Pure At Heart announced a release date for their third LP, Days of Abandon, as well as a spring tour. It’s been three years since the band’s last release, Belong. Days of Abandon will be released April 22 on Yebo Music.

The album was recorded at the Greenpoint, Brooklyn studio House Under Magic. It was produced by Andy Savours, who has worked with My Bloody Valentine and Cloud Boat. Days of Abandon will depart from the sound of Belong, singer and guitarist Kip Berman said.

“I wanted the music to be joyful and full of light, even if the subjects were often dark,” he said.

The tour kicks off March 7 in Baltimore, MD, and continues through May. British band Fear of Men as well as Eternal Summers and Ablebody are joining the tour.

Full tour dates are on the band’s website.
