U2 Push Back Album, Tour To 2015

U2 New AlbumBillboard is reporting that U2 have pushed back their upcoming album and tour to 2015 after scheduling new recording sessions with producers Ryan Tedder and Paul Epworth.

Recently, the band undertook a massive media blitz, premiering the new song “Invisible” during this year’s Super Bowl and appearing as the first musical guest of Jimmy Fallon’s new Tonight Show. However, several members of the band had indicated that the album was not yet finished as recently as last month, and the band’s summer release date for the album seemed tentative at best.

Sources close to U2 say the band have had a hard time finishing an album as they’ve gotten older. “The magic that the band always seems to capture…they’ve yet to capture it,” the unnamed source said. The added pressure of improving on the disappointing reception of the band’s last album No Line On The Horizon has likely added to the band’s perfectionism in the studio.

As of this time, U2 have yet to elaborate on this delay. Their new, Danger Mouse-produced album is expected to see release…some time in the future.
