Morrissey Cancels U.S. Tour

Morrissey cancels tourWe know it’s over, but we’re not exactly happy about it. In what is turning out to be a repeat of his last time out in the United States, Morrissey has cancelled the remainder of his U.S. tour, including his performance with Sir Cliff Richard at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center. Morrissey’s representatives have cited a “respiratory infection” as the cause for the cancellation.

The Moz’s tour got off to a rousing start, but an illness the singer contracted in Miami led to several dates of the tour being cancelled. Now, the entire jaunt has been put on hold indefinitely. Morrissey’s representatives have said that the tour was cancelled “in the interest of [Morrissey] making a full recovery,” but there has been no word as to whether any of the remaining tour dates would be rescheduled.

The scenario is eerily similar to Morrissey’s last tour of the United States, which was similarly plagued with health issues and cancellations before being called off altogether. This time, though, Morrissey was in the process of promoting a new solo album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business. That album is still set to come out on July 15th.
