There are few bands as reckless and debauched as the Black Lips, but the band have the tunes to go along with their bad behavior. The band came back with a new album, Underneath The Rainbow, which finds them cleaning up the dirty, fuzzy garage-rock sound, but only just so. That gloss doesn’t translate live, anyhow: in person, the band are as wild and unpredictable as ever, and they’re guaranteed to be an unforgettable time, no matter how they play. This year, they’ll be kicking off the summer right with a free show at Brooklyn’s House Of Vans. You’ll have to show up early to get in, but this one will definitely be a great time.
