American Blues and Rock and Roll musician Elvin Bishop has returned to Alligator Records with Can’t Even Do Wrong Right, set for release August 19. Elvin Bishop first hit the national music scene with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band in in 1965, and still continues to write and sing some of the most lively blues and roots music of today.

Continuing to grow creatively, through the years Bishop’s music has increased in stature. Appearing in film and television, Bishop’s music garnered popularity,  including the use of Bishop’s “She Puts Me In The Mood”  in Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown. He also performed at the 2005 Grammy Awards alongside Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Gretchen Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Allman Brothers’ guitarist Dickey Betts. For over five decades, Bishop has never stopped touring or releasing music instantly identifiable by his mellow vocals, groundbreaking guitar playing and humorous lyrics that bleed through to his consistently easy-going stage presence.

Can’t Even Do Wrong Right features cover art by musician/artist Paul Thorn, and finds Bishop’s music as outstanding and uplifting as ever. With five tracks originally created by Bishop and covers of such songs as an instrumental take on Jimmy Reed’s “Honest I Do,” (the first Blues song Bishop heard as a child in Oklahoma) it’s clear he remains motivated and inspired even fifty years into his career.
