Morrissey Dropped From Harvest Records

Morrissey new tour datesLess than a week after Morrissey bit the hand that fed him, he’s now suffering the consequences. The controversial singer has been dropped from Harvest Records after he criticized the label for failing to adequately promote his new album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business.

Harvest originally signed Morrissey for a two album deal after the singer spent a few years trying to find a record label. However, after the release of Moz’s first album in five years, tensions increased between artist and label. Those tensions culminated with a statement that Morrissey issued on the fan-site True To You, in which he threw a thinly-veiled verbal jab at Harvest for refusing to pay for a music video for the album’s title track and not setting up an adequate promotional tour for the album.

While Morrissey is still featured as an artist on Harvest’s website, True To You has reported that the order to drop Morrissey came this weekend directly from label head Steve Barnett.

World Peace Is None Of Your Business is out now. Morrissey returns to the road after several cancellations on October 6th in Lisbon, Portugal.
