Exclusive: Bryan Adams Shares New Ray Charles Cover from Upcoming Album

In recent years, Bryan Adams has devoted more and more of his time to his award-winning photography. However, on September 30, Adams will release Tracks of My Years, his first studio album since 2008. Aside from one new original, the collection is made up of ten covers of songs from decades past that inspired a young Adams. The covers span a wide range of influences, from Smokey Robinson to Bob Dylan to Chuck Berry. “Radio was king when I was a teenager,” Adams said. “You’d hear McCartney’s ‘Admiral Halsey’ straight into ‘Kiss and Say Goodbye’ by the Manhattans. Radio didn’t discriminate back then.” Informing Adams’ soul side, along with the Manhattans and Smokey Robinson, is Ray Charles. Among what was likely stiff competition from other Charles classics during the Tracks of My Years sessions (“Making the selection of the songs for the album took a long time,” Adams said), Adams chose to record “I Can’t Stop Loving You.”
