Marianne Faithfull Celebrates 50 Years in Music, Announces New Album

Marianne Faithfull, Give My Love To LondonLegendary British singer Marianne Faithfull will celebrate her 50th year in music later this fall with the release of a new album, Give My Love To London (due out November 11). Produced by Rob Ellis and Dimitri Tikovoi, the album features an impressive list of studio collaborators and songwriters, including Adrian Utley (Portishead), Brian Eno and more. Though Faithfull penned most of the lyrics herself, songwriting contributions also came from Roger Waters, Nick Cave, Anna Calvi and Steve Earle, among others.

Faithfull’s career launched in 1964, as she rose to fame with songs like “As Tears Go By,” co-written by Mick Jagger, whom she famously dated (possibly providing inspiration for a couple of Rolling Stones classics). Over the decades, Faithfull has proven herself a fearless adventurer of music and art, with no plans on slowing down.

Faithfull’s 50th anniversary tour kicks off in October, with more dates to be announced in 2015. You can pre-order Give My Love To London now, or wait for its North American release on November 11 (via Easy Sound).
