Exclusive: Hear the Dulcet Vocals and Psych Pop Textures of Ward White’s New Track

Ward White, Ward White is the Matador, Alphabet of Pain

Although Brooklyn-based songwriter Ward White has been at it for more than a decade—both as a solo artist and as half of McGinty & White (with composer/producer Joe McGinty of Psychedelic Furs fame)—he’s waited until now to reveal that he is…the matador. Or at least that’s what his upcoming album, Ward White is the Matador, would have us believe. And if our latest peek at the album, “Alphabet of Pain,” is any indication, apparently being the matador means laying your mellifluous high tenor over some of the most well-crafted psych pop since names like the Zombies and the Byrds populated the charts.

Check out “Alphabet of Pain” below and then pre-order the album (due out November 4) here—anyone who pre-orders the album will instantly be able to stream its first three tracks.
