Listen To The New Basement Tapes’ Take On “Spanish Mary”

The New Basement Tapes, the supergroup formed to re-interpret the lost recordings from Bob Dylan’s famed studio sessions with The Band in the late 1960s, is set to release their first album, Lost On The River, later this year. While the group contains the likes of Elvis Costello, Marcus Mumford, and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, it’s Rhiannon Giddens from Carolina Chocolate Drops who takes center stage on the band’s latest song, “Spanish Mary.” Giddens sounds right at home singing the song, some of which she wrote based on Dylan’s original lyric. You can listen to the song below.

Lost In The River: The New Basement Tapes comes out on November 10th.
