Primus Hide “Golden Tickets” In Copies Of New Album

Primus-And-The-Chocolate-FactoryPrimus are fans of Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, if you didn’t know. They’re really big fans, in fact. They’re such big fans that they’re releasing an album-length tribute to the film’s soundtrack this week, and they’re borrowing one of Mr. Wonka’s promotional techniques in the process.

Primus & The Chocolate Factory With The Fungi Ensemble comes out on October 21st, and fans who purchase a vinyl copy of the record could find themselves in possession of a golden ticket of sorts. That’s right, the band have hidden five golden LPs in among the general vinyl release of the album. The five lucky vinylphiles will get a very special prize: free Primus tickets for life.

Primus kick off their tour on October 22nd in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and wrap things up on January 3rd. You can listen to the band’s version of “Pure Imagination” here (via Rolling Stone).
