Guitar nuts rejoice! Nels Cline is one of the most mesmerizing performers ever to pick up a six-stringed instrument. He seems capable of playing anything from skull-smashing hard rock to delicate, lyrical jazz. Lately, he’s been in something of a country-rock groove as the lead guitarist for Wilco, but Cline hasn’t shed his eclectic identity altogether. Just this year, he’s put out a new album, Macroscope, with The Nels Cline Singers, and he’s got a new album of jazz guitar performances with Julian Lage coming later this month.
