AC/DC Drummer Phil Rudd: “I’m Going Back To Work”

Embattled Musician Intends To Play On Band's Upcoming World Tour

In case you haven’t noticed, AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd is in a bit of trouble right now. Needless to say, the band have attempted to distance themselves from Rudd until his legal issues have been settled, but Rudd is apparently itching to get back behind the drumkit as soon as possible. “I’m going back to work with AC/DC,” Rudd told One News in New Zealand. “I don’t care who likes it and who doesn’t.”

Rudd is currently facing hard time on charges of drug possession and threatening to kill in his native New Zealand. Rudd remained defiant about his innocence, claiming that the charges were “ludicrous.” “This has just been a big ball of cheese, and all the rats are having a piece,” he said. “That’s just life. But that’s not who I am.”

Rudd was also insistent that he would re-join AC/DC for their upcoming world tour behind their new album  Rock Or Bust, on which he plays. “I want my job back, I want my reputation back, and I’m gonna get it back,” Rudd said, adding that he was “a good guy, and a pretty good drummer. Ask Angus [Young], he’ll tell you.”

Rudd is due back in court on February 10th. AC/DC’s tour kicks off in May in the Netherlands, with  or without Rudd on drums.
