The B-52s’ Kate Pierson Announces Debut Solo Album

New Video For "Mister Sister" Features 'SNL'/'Portlandia' Star Fred Armisen

As one of the iconic voices of the B-52s, Kate Pierson has made a lasting impression on music with her band and as a guest on songs by R.E.M., David Byrne, and Iggy Pop. Now, after 38 years in music, Pierson is releasing her debut solo album, Guitars And Microphones, on February 17th.

Produced by Tim Anderson (Ima Robot), Guitars And Microphones features contributions from Sia and Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi. The album’s first single, “Mister Sister,” is vintage new wave, and Pierson’s vocals sound as strong as ever. You can watch the video for “Mister Sister,” featuring comedian and former ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Fred Armisen, below (via Pitchfork).
