The Who Perform “A Quick One” For First Time In 44 Years

The Who kicked off their 50th anniversary tour in Glasgow this weekend (right after Roger Daltrey finished up his wedding gig), and from all accounts, the performance lived up to the band’s pre-show hype about pulling out old favorites for one more go-round. Much to the delight of fans, it seems that the band’s early mini-opera “A Quick One, While He’s Away” managed to work its way into the set. Given that Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are nearly 50 years removed from the original recording of the song, the performance doesn’t sound exactly like the original, but the pair can still bring it on stage. You can listen to an audio recording of the performance below (via Rolling Stone).
