Dynamic Nostalgia?! That’s the label that this is released on? Man, I hope not. I devoutly hope Pete Seeger’s life mission never becomes nostalgia. If it does, we’re screwed.

Screwed is not a condition you’ll find yourself in by adding this 2-disc, 50-track set to your collection. This one’s a no-brainer. By curating tracks globally known solo songswith those of the Almanac Singers (Seeger, Millard  Lampell, Lee Hays, and Woody Guthrie), The Weavers (Pete, Lee, Ronnie Gilbert, and Fred Hellerman) all the usual suspects abound and should be part of our DNA. ‘Turn! Turn! Turn”, “John Henry,” “Erie Canal,” “Midnight Special,” “If I Had A Hammer,” ”This Land Is Your Land,” “Where Have All The Flowers Gone?”…If I have to list all fifty tracks, then it’s too late.
